About Us

Father and Son

Vinevinu was born during the 2024 harvest from the shared enthusiasm of Manuel and Luís Cerdeira, a father-and-son winemaking duo. Their goal was to create an innovative project in the Vinho Verde region of northern Portugal, exploring the versatility of Alvarinho and capturing its essence across different terroirs, from the sea to the mountains.

This duo, from different generations, unites with a shared vision: to preserve the winemaking tradition of the Minho while incorporating innovation and creativity. With 30 years of experience, the father brings extensive knowledge about white wines made with Alvarinho, while the son, with a contemporary approach, pushes the limits of winemaking.

Luís Cerdeira

António Luís Cerdeira is a Portuguese winemaker with over 30 years of experience. He completed his training in Enology in 1994 at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, with a final internship in Burgundy, that gave him a deeper and richer perspective on the wine sector.

For 22 years (1994-2016), he led the Laboratory and Tasting Panel at the Vinho Verde Wine Commission, an activity he balanced with his role as a winemaker and manager of the family brand, Soalheiro, created by his father in 1982. He dedicated himself exclusively to Soalheiro from 2016 until 2024.

With his extensive technical, academic, and practical knowledge, Luís Cerdeira has and will continue to contribute to positioning Alvarinho as a grape of excellence at both national and international levels.

Manuel Cerdeira

Following his father’s footsteps and representing a new generation of winemakers, Manuel Cerdeira graduated in June 2024 with a degree in Viticulture and Enology from Plumpton College in the United Kingdom. During his studies, he gained a contemporary and international perspective on the industry, with practical experience in various wine regions including Alentejo, Chile, and the Vinho Verde region in Monção and Melgaço through the family project.

During his academic journey, he co-founded the bold initiative Not Yet Named Wine Co, involving wine lovers in the winemaking process.
